House of Homps

There's a definite chill in the air now, so what better time to share some snaps/outfits from my holiday to the south of France a few weeks ago? We stayed in a little town on the Canal du Midi called Homps, and enjoyed some fantastic weather, wine and scenery. I spent a lot of time wearing as little as possible, and a lot of time photographing the area rather than myself, hence only two outfits to show (but I can assure you I did wear a colour other than mustard).

Vintage cover-up, 1920s blouse, ASOS trousers, Topshop sandals, antique belt and jewellery

This is me in 'casual mode', wearing treggings (the absolute worst portmanteau), and flat sandals (!) for a day walking around the incredible Abbaye de Fontfroide. The necklace is a 1920s celluloid and French Jet piece I recently got for my birthday; and the star brooch is an Edwardian paste beauty, a stone from which I lost on the morning of our departure meaning I had to reluctantly walk away without finding it 😩 Tracking down the exact shade and size of paste to replace it is going to be a mission, but I can barely look at it now without feeling sad/annoyed.

Zara blouse, Benetton treggings, SixtySeven sandals, vintage and antique jewellery.

Matching Mustard

I guess there's no hiding the fact that these pictures are rather old... what can I say, I've been a busy girl! Anyway, I've always loved mustard with dark hair and red lips. This blouse was picked up in a charity shop. It's so big and drapey I like to tie it and play around with volume, here exposing the vest beneath. Paired with my absolute favourite coat, a 1920's Astrakhan with blonde mink collar, and mustard gloves my friend bought me for Christmas.

Coat- vintage, shoes- Zara, vest- Religion, blouse- vintage, trousers- ASOS, bag- vintage, most jewellery- vintage

Love the label; apparently Brown Muff & Co was bought by House of Fraser in 1977, having begun business in 1814.

Carcassonne 2013

Just a few snaps from my trip to Carcassonne at the beginning of June. The Southern French town of Carcassonne kept us equally intrigued and relaxed with its fascinating Medieval history and beautiful surrounding countryside. I'll post a few more outfits and shots of the area in the next couple of days!

I fought long and hard to win this mustard cape/loose jacket with black embroidery off of eBay. The mustard hue and Art Nouveau embroidered designs made it a worthy purchase though.

Crazy beautiful Zara silk 'Oriental' print trousers paired with a beautiful antique embroidered bag I bought last winter and have been waiting for some sunshine to use. The motif on the front is beautiful in both colour and design, and the metal frame is adorned with a rather interesting pastoral scene and male figures (Dutch perhaps?).
