Liquid Metal

When I first saw these trousers, I found myself inexplicably attracted to them. I am a skinny trouser girl, I can't stand a flared, baggy or loose fit... yet I liked these so much. By comparison to my normal trousers, there's something so freeing about their silky slightly loose fit. At the moment I'm having to layer tights under them because they are very lightweight...I can't wait until summer arrives and I can wear them with open-toed sandals, minus the tights. They actually have a drop crotch (ugh!), but I'm wearing them super high-waisted, with normal crotch levels. Quite similar to these Day Birger et Mikkelsen hareems (which I weirdly want too, minus the scary drop crotch).

Green and Gold

I wasn't feeling too inspired today, so went for a relatively standard outfit. I like to do this hairstyle, but it inevitably starts to deflate halfway through the day and starts to piss me off, so I don't do it as often as I'd like. Yet again I'm wearing my gold boots. I've not had them long, yet I've worn them a lot. What a bargain they have proved to be. When I wear green I usually like to pair it with silver accessories/jewellery....but since I wanted to wear the gold boots, I had to find appropriate gold jewels. I think I did ok. Not a lot to say today! I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Black Watch

I was more than pleased when I found this bag in the exact same tartan as my jacket. I think the tartan is called Black Watch, and I also think the bag is for binoculars, but I can get over that. Getting dressed, I thought I'd throw on my riding boots, in a bid to go for the old 'British heritage/mad country folk' look thats always popular at this time of year.

Whilst pinning on one of my brooches, I came to the realisation that I'm actually such an old biddy; I collect brooches and other 'fine' jewellery, I wear headscarfs and pearls, I match my shoes and handbag (and gloves), and I freaking love the Antiques Roadshow! Speaking of brooches, the blue enamel and marcasite one on my jacket is particularly special to me, and is so pretty it managed to convert me into a lover of that certain shade of royal blue. Blue is a colour that does nothing for me, its neither here nor there, its just kind of blah. But since I saw, and bought, this brooch, I've developed a love for this particular shade in jewellery, when paired with silver. The second blue brooch on my belt is a little Victorian one I got the other day. Its not as amazing as my original blue brooch, but still has that shot of gorgeous blue.

P.S. I'm sorry about how crinkled my skirt is. I should have got my maid to iron it! Also, the skirt was like 4 quid from Woolworths school uniform selection (hence the ill fit- 10yr old girls don't quite have the same shape as me)...what a bloody bargain.

Feeling Bling Blingz

Got a bit o’ bling in the post today and had to wear it straight away. The longer necklace is actually a porcelain pomander and gives off a slightly old woman fragrance that smells like it’s been fermenting for half a century. Still, it looks pretty. My mum said I look a walking museum today, this made me happy, although I should point out the coins in the top necklace are fake and not some valuable ancient relics.

I bought this gold cardigan as it reminded me of Moschino’s a/w 2007 collection, and the advert for said collection featuring all Asian models with big black bobs in completely gold outfits. I’ve no idea why, but I really really wanted the gold scalloped dress (3rd from right, below). Something about the frills and the sheen of the material made me want it. Maybe I liked the wild black hair with the pale gold. I don’t know, but when I found this frilly cold cardigan, at a ridiculously reduced price, I snapped it up.
