Caped Christmas

I bought this 1920's tiered cape a few weeks ago, and Christmas provided the perfect opportunity to wear it and share it on the blog. The cape comprises of three tiers, made from the softest silk velvet, enabling it to swish about and generally make you feel rather glamorous. It kept me warm on Christmas day, worn over my Anna Sui dress (ss2007), which sadly only comes out on special occasions!
(Oh and half of these photos were taken at the start of the day, with fresh hair/make-up, and the other half were taken at the end of the day, after much merriment and food....hence the less than immaculate hair in some shots, and removal of the belt.)

My mum keeps telling me that red eye-shadow makes me look ill and/or tearful, but I rather like it! And below is my most treasured ring, which I got for my 21st birthday. Ruby is my birthstone (lucky me!)

Brrrrrrrrrrr

I'm not the sort of girl who lets a silly little dusting of (beautiful) snow prevent her from looking good!

Bang Bang

I go through phases of wanting a fringe, then realising I could never commit to it and that my signature bouffant of massive hair would be severely hampered by its presence. So, a few weeks ago I bought a clip-in fringe (or 'bangs' if you're American). I'm not convinced a fringe even suits me, but it's nice to forgo vanity and change things up once in a while.

Feeling Furry

I found this amazing coat in a charity shop this past weekend. It's keeps me so warm, is a divine shade of red wine, and was a really good price. Needless to say, I've been wearing it loads since Saturday!
I wore this outfit for a bit of Christmas shopping. My sheer vest hasn't been worn recently, so I went all out and layered it over a sparkly grey vest, with my antique lace collar and a necklace on top. The butterflies in my hair I've owned for years and years, since I was a little girl. I don't exactly wear pale pink a lot, so it's nice to get the chance to wear them, as they tone in nicely with my vest.

Chained

Upon first viewing this shot, the shoe addict in me skimmed over the shiny shiny dress, ignored the lace tights, and instead homed in on the shoes. Damn they are some envy-inducing creations. They are kind of busy what with all the intricate panels, ribbons and the embellished heel, but I can forgive them. It's the heel I'm most drawn to. Studs are everywhere at the moment, but the use of chain with the studs creates a really distinct look...sort of elegantly industrial.
Take note Santa, I've been a good girl this year!
