More pretty shoes

My darling beau recently bought me a pair of shoes as an anniversary gift. He is very well trained fashion-wise (and in general) and knows a good pair of shoes when he sees them, which is why I'm so delighted with this gorgeous pair he gave me. A sensible heel and open toe makes them the perfect summer walking shoes. I can't wait to wear them on holiday!

Regarding the shoes in the previous post, I'm afraid I have to disappoint you all. On the day I made the post, before any helpful comments had been left, I took them back to the shop where I was told I couldn't have money off as they "don't sell faulty goods" at any price....A new pair could be ordered in but they were no longer in the sale and had gone back up to full price *angry face*. So, I returned them and got a refund (which I kind of regret now reading all your comments. A cobbler! Why didn't I think of that?!).

Womankind, feel my pain

I remember the first time I saw these shoes online; the squeals, the delight. The patent black leather lighting up my eyes, the contrasting suede panels, the strappy graphic cut-outs, and best of all….the mega sparkly heels! But they were quite pricey, not ridiculously priced, but still up there at £160. I kept telling myself I’d blatantly lose some of the crystals from the heels and be devastated- banishing them to the back of my wardrobe, as it would cause me too much pain to look at them (this happened to me with a pair of sequinned shoes *sad face*).

Surprisingly, I managed to forget all about them until a few days ago whilst out shopping, when they glinted under the bright lights of House of Fraser. Not only are they stunning in real life, but they were in the sale, with one last pair in my size! I didn’t have time to try them on, I just grabbed and purchased. Trying them on at home, they fit perfectly, but something was glaring at me in the mirror. A white beacon in amongst all the shiny black patent leather. Heartbreakingly, one of the straps has come out of its little fitting. A few visible white threads and white stuffing are now gallantly keeping the strap attached to the shoe.

Epic story, I know. Now I’m faced with a conundrum….do I take them back and ask for more money off because they are faulty?……do I try and sew the strap myself?…..do I just return them and forget about them….?? The strap isn’t integral to the shoe, it could snap and the shoe would remain safely on my foot. I’m thinking I could just use some black thread to discretely reattach it, but is it worth it? Will it hold? I don’t know what to do!

Liquid Metal

When I first saw these trousers, I found myself inexplicably attracted to them. I am a skinny trouser girl, I can't stand a flared, baggy or loose fit... yet I liked these so much. By comparison to my normal trousers, there's something so freeing about their silky slightly loose fit. At the moment I'm having to layer tights under them because they are very lightweight...I can't wait until summer arrives and I can wear them with open-toed sandals, minus the tights. They actually have a drop crotch (ugh!), but I'm wearing them super high-waisted, with normal crotch levels. Quite similar to these Day Birger et Mikkelsen hareems (which I weirdly want too, minus the scary drop crotch).

Mind-meltingly good

This Alberta Ferretti top is so achingly gorgeous, it's making my brain explode with desire. So intricate....so laboured over, just so frigging beautiful. It's not too often I go ga-ga over a piece of contemporary clothing, but this top has a definite 1920's Egyptian revival feel to it. It wouldn't look too out of place in a museum (or in my wardrobe for that matter).

Also, I've been a little lazy recently and thus have a huge backlog of photos to go through and post here, so outfit posts coming up soon. I may be an unreliable blogger, but I'd go for quality over quantity any day!

Cowboy Brogues

I've spent the past couple of weeks obsessively wearing all my velvet and furry items, squeezing every last wear out of them before Spring comes. The past couple of days have been pretty mild, so I guess its bye bye to my fur coat, at least until the Autumn time.

The shoes in today's post pretty much haven't left my feet since I bought them. Brogues are rather ubiquitous these days, but these bad boys are so damn cool I couldn't say no. They have a really clunky, quite ugly, heel and are gloriously pointed. Side on, their profile reminds me of cowboy boots. But brogue cowboy boots. For the businessman cowboy.

Those of you who have read my blog for a while may remember my penchant for Liberty of London goods, specifically those with the Ianthe print. I have four Liberty handbags, each made with the Ianthe print (that seems pretty obsessive, but they are gorgeous)....and now I have a delightful Ianthe print sheer burgundy t-shirt to prance around in. Please Liberty, let me be a spokesperson for your products, and send me free stuff :-)
